Alternatives is the only alcohol treatment program in the United States to combine over three decades of research on moderate drinking methods for alcohol abuse and compulsions with the latest technology and monitoring tools. We provide a structured outpatient program that lasts six months during which our clients go through four distinct phases of treatment. After treatment, clients can participate in our aftercare program for free! A truly alternative addiction treatment program, Alternatives is not 12-step based and is focused on empowering our clients. More importantly, when our clients graduate (and get their completion certificate!) they are ready to live their lives relieved of the negative consequences and emotional pain that their drinking and negative habits had been causing before.
Alternatives is a private, confidential, outpatient treatment program that specializes in the treatment of alcohol problems and compulsive habits. We use our proprietary Bio-Affective Management method, based on the latest evidence-based treatment, to teach clients about the relationship between their drinking, problematic habits, and the biological and emotional factors in their life.
There Are Many Common Reasons People Avoid Treatment Altogether:
- Being offered only one goal for treatment – quitting for life
- The stigma of being a lifetime “alcoholic” or “addict”
- The misperception that they must hit “rock bottom” before getting better
Alternatives Offers A Unique Choice:
A structured outpatient program that respects the daily responsibilities of clients and empowers them to discover happiness by providing the best research-supported tools for controlled drinking and habit management. In contrast to the “one-size fits all” approach taken by most programs, our clients are given the rare opportunity to discover whether they truly can continue to enjoy their life in a measured way.

Real Science, Real Treatment, Real Results
At the centerpiece of the Alternatives program is the ongoing monitoring of the client’s alcohol consumption and functioning (mood, stress, sleep patterns and more). At specific intervals, this monitoring consists of 24-hour physical assessment using a wearable device, while at other times the monitoring is more sporadic.
Alternatives staff combines this data to create ongoing monitoring reports and constantly revised treatment plans for each of our clients. Nothing is taken on faith: we use actual data to know when our clients are getting better.
